Mold Base Inclusion |
This command allows you to include a mold base in the file.
Creation stages / Use:
Click the icon or select the Mold > Mold Base > Mold Base Inclusion... command from the drop-down menu.
|
Each choice, each tuning is displayed in real time on the pre-visualization in the function window. It is possible to zoom in the graphical area of this box, as it is also possible to rotate the mold base. |
Determine the mold base type to include with selecting a Manufacturer and a mold base Template.
In case of standard mold base, choose the Mold base code to include.
Choose Modifiable mold base create a copy of the standard mold base template. This assembly is linked to the mold file and it is named MoldDocumentName.MoldBaseTemplate. Then it becomes possible to modify the mold base with the following functions:
It is possible to choose to add a Clearance on the ejection side and/or on the injection side of the mold base.
Position the mode base with selecting a frame as its center. If it is needed, create it . It is also possible to orientate the mold base with a rotation angle among the center frame Z axis chosen.
|
By default, if the mold is included:
|
|
The mold base center is compulsorily positioned on the Absolute XY Plane. If the Opening frame of the TopSolid'Split Core Cavity blocks doesn't match with this plane, you must change the Core Cavity Blocks positioning in the inclusions with selecting the Edit positioning command in the popup menu. |
In case of custom mold base (TopSolid Mold Base), it is possible to manage drivers linked to the selected Mold Base. For example :
Spacer offset : Allows you to create an offset between the ejection plates and the backing plate.
Length et Width allow you to give overall dimension of the mold base plates.
Ejection plate clearance define the clearance between the ejection plates and the rail plates.
Clamp plate offset allows you to give an offset to Backing plates width value (in the Mold Base center X direction). This offset is applied on the both sides of the mold base.
With the Component section, it is possible to modify each mold base plates.
The drop-down menu allows you to choose the plate to treat. The chosen plate is highlighted in blue on the mold base pre-visualization. It is also possible to choose a plate with a simple click in the pre-visualization.
Once the plate chosen, it is possible to determine the wanted component family for this plate. Only the plate families answering to the chosen constraint are proposed. The Empty plate family allows you to remove the plate from the mold base plates stack.
The drivers linked to the chosen plate family are adjustable. In case of Standard plates, only the possible values of these drivers are proposed in the drop-down menu. For the custom mold base, this menu becomes an editable field.
The possible material list depend of the chosen manufacturer and of the selected plate. In case of custom Mold Base, all the materials are available.
In case of standard mold base, the Manufacturer Part Number of the chosen plate is displayed in the window. This number is updated in real time based of the selected plate.
Once your Mold Base is "defined", validate .
Modifications / Additional information:
One the mold base included, it is possible to modify it, plate by plate, with Edit the Mold Base Inclusion.
Activate mold base dimensioning: It is possible to activate the mold base dimensioning in Tools, Options, Mold. From the moment the dimensioning is active, and the document where the carcass is included contains elements (part, core/cavity blocks, elements of movement) that can be used to dimension it, the following actions are performed:
At the time of the mold base creation (not in modification), only if it comes from a family and if it is not modifiable, the mold base instance used and the dimensions of the core/cavity blocks and movements are stored.
When opening the dialogue (only in creation), we look for, in the instances stored, an instance of the last used family responding to the dimensioning (size greater than or equal to, optimized according to X, Y, Z injection side, Z ejection side).
When changing manufacturers or types, we search in the stored instances, an instance of the first family of the manufacturer or type responding to the dimensioning.
The Reset button will delete all mold base dimensioning data of the configuration file.
Ejection Stroke: When the base is included, an Ejection stroke parameter is automatically created, equal to the distance between the ejection plate and the core cavity plate. This stroke is used for dimensioning shouldered and blade pins.
