Basic dimension

 

 

 

 

This command allows a basic dimension to be created between 2 items.

 

Creation stages:

 

Click the icon or select the Detailing > Basic dimension... command from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Select the first item.

  2. Select the second item.

  3. Select the dimension style to use.

  4. Position the dimension.

 

 

  • It is possible to hook again an item by double clicking on the dimension line or the attachment line and moving the handle onto another geometry.

  • When the value of the dimension is manually modified (the dimension was forced), the background color of the box is mustard. This color does not appear when printed.

  • A theorical dimension is framed.

 

 

Available Options:

 

 

Style: This cell allows the dimension style to use to be defined.

 

 

  • Prefix symbol: By checking this option, several prefix symbols are available: None, M, Ø, R, SØ, SR, ...

 

  • Prefix/Suffix: by checking these options, the Prefix / Suffix field allows to customize datas.

 

  • Manual Text: Allows you to force the dimension text. A forced dimension text is highlighted in yellow.

 

 

Dimension:

 

  • Font: Display the name and size of font used

Check the Font option to activate the button and be able to modify settings (font, style, size, ...)

 

  • Unit format: Displays the number of decimals of the length and angle dimensions.

Check the Unit format option to activate the button and be able to modify settings (number of digits, display of zeros).

 

 

Secondary dimension:

  • Allows to define the secondary dimension: position, font and unit, tolerances, prefix/suffix, symbols framings,...

 

Geometry:

  • Allows to modify dimension geometries: Text and tolerance positions, dimension lines definition, ...

 

Extremities:

  • Allows to modify dimension extremities: arrows style, size, ...

 

 

When an option has been modified, its button displays the change.
