Secondary dimension

This option allows to configure secondary dimension, which means dimensions with 2 units. For example a dimension in mm and in ft/in. (Position, font and units, tolerances, prefix/suffix, framing,...)

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

In the dialog of the different dimension commands (dimension, composite dimension, ...), select the Secondary dimension... advanced option.

 

  1. Check and select the text position of the secondary dimension regarding the actual text to activate the secondary dimension.

  2. Enter a spacing between the 2 values of the dimension if needed.

  3. Modify the font and the unit format for dimensions and tolerances.

  4. Select a predefined prefix - suffix: Prefixes/Suffixes can be predefined with the Tools > Options > Predefined Values > Predefined dimension Prefixes/Suffixes command.

  5. By checking Prefix symbol, several prefix symbols are available. None, M, Ø, R, SØ, SR, ...

  6. By checking prefix/Suffix, Prefix / Suffix fields data to be customized.

  7. The dimension value can be forced by entering it in the Manual text field. A forced dimension text is highlighted in yellow.

  8. Select the prefix and suffix of framed symbols. These symbols frame the secondary dimension. For example with [ and ], the dimension of 25.4mm will have a secondary dimension like [1in].

  9. Select one or two decorations if needed.
