IFC import/export

Several enhancements have been made to the IFC interface:

• Files in ifczip format are now supported for both import and export.
• The new background document types are now compatible with IFC export.
• The Ignore the placement of the site import option has been removed. Entities can now be positioned using four different methods:
  • IfcSite: The origin is defined in the IFC document.
  • Optimized: The origin is set at the center of a bounding box calculated from selected IFC file entities.
  • External: The origin is taken from an already imported IFC document.
  • Manual: Similar to Optimized, but you can manually edit the values.

• In the Tools > Options > Translators > Ifc > Import section, the Keep IfcMechanicalFastener symbolizing drilling option now lets you import Tekla’s hole-representing cylinders with a specific color. This makes it easier to identify and use these elements during construction.
