Properties

The popup command allows you to change the properties (description, reference, etc.) of an object or project.

The "properties" concept in TopSolid7 est extremely rich and is arranged on several levels depending on whether the properties relate to projects, documents or parts.

- Project properties: Right-click the project name in the project tree.

- Document properties: Right click on the document name in the project tree.

- Part properties: Right-click the part itself in the graphic zone.

Creation Stages / Use:

Select the Properties... command from the popup menu on the document or project in the project tree.

The window has two tabs:

Standard properties: All standard properties (name, description, part number, comment, date, author, ...).
User properties: All user properties used by the document, folder or project are listed. They can be edited and modified from this window.

Click Edit.
Modify, then validate.

This command is only available from the popup menu.
The reference can be automatically informed when creating a document using the Manage Part Numbering or Part Numbering commands.

	This command allows to check if the part number is unique in the current project.
	This command allows to replace the existing part number by a new one generated by taking in account the automatic Part Numbering.

None CAD documents (Word, Excel, image, Pdf, ...) can use exactly the same properties.
Some standard properties still grayed when editing (date, file size, version, ...). They cannot be changed manually.

These properties can be used to retrieve a document with the search integrated tool.
