User enumeration parameter |
This command allows you to create an enumeration parameter that retrieves the information coming from an enumeration document.
Creation Stages / Use:
Click the icon or select the Tools > Parameters > User enumeration parameter... command from a drop-down menu.
Choose the parameter type from the list.
Enter the name of the parameter.
Enter its value into the list.
For example, a "Gate" enumeration document can fill in information about the different types of gates possible (sliding, double sliding, right, etc.). The user enumeration parameter allows you to select, from the drop-down list, the type of gate and to assign it to the document.
Filling in this parameter allows you to have an additional search criterion in the document search tool. |
Example:
Create an Enumeration Document.
Change the enumeration document name in the project tree and enter Portal.
Enter the values (ex. 0, 1 and 2) and associated text (sliding, double sliding, straight, etc.).
Save the file.
Create a Property Document.
In this document, create a user enumeration parameter. In the drop-down list, select the previously created Portal. Enter a name (ex. Portal), select one of the values (not important), and validate.
Enter a domain and a description (example Portal), then choose the parameter from the drop-down list and validate.
Rename and save the property document.
Create a part, and use the Tools > Parameters > User Property... command.
Select the previously created property from the drop-down list and run the validation.
After validating, you can select the desired value, and run the validation.
By using this piece in an assembly, its bill of material will now be able to retrieve and display the Portal property and the chosen value for the part.
