Switch enumeration parameter

This command allows you to create an enumeration parameter to link an integer parameter and a system enumeration parameter.

 

 

  • Use example: if a part may have different clearance hole diameter (fine, medium and large) regarding the diameter, TopSolid allows you to create a family by using this switch enumeration parameter.

  • This parameter value will be an integer.

 

 

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Click the icon or select the Construction > Parameters > Switch enumeration parameter... command from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Create before an integer parameter with any value.

  2. Select a system switch enumeration parameter type from the drop-down list. For the example above, Select " Clearance hole diameter" type.

  3. Enter the name of the parameter.

  4. Select the integer parameter created in 1.

  5. In switch table, select for this case, the corresponding value. For our example 1--> fine, 2 --> medium > 3 --> large.

  6. Select a value by default. It will be used for each case non defined in 5.

  7. Validate by clicking .

 

Now, you are able to create a family document for this part. Recover this parameter and the diameter to link with.

   

 

User enumeration parameter are not taken in account.
