Axial frame

 

 

 

This command allows an axial frame to be created (defined by an axis and a reference face). This frame is mainly used for grooves and collars.

 

Creation Stages / Use:

 

Click on the icon or choose the command Construction > Frames > Axial frame ... from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Select an axis from the 3 icons. If Y is chosen and a cylindrical face is then selected, the Y axis of the frame being created will be oriented according to the axis of the cylindrical surface.

  2. Select an axis, a cylindrical surface or create the axis by clicking on the "+" button.

  3. Check Automatic to visualize the positioning of the frame in real time. This mode allows a fast and intuitive positioning of the frame. The positioning dimensions appear automatically. If Automatic is unchecked or to position the frame more traditionally, the following options can be completed:

  4. Select the reference plane (or a flat face), also origin of the distance.

  5. Enter the distance.

  6. Choose Orient X, Orient Y or Orient Z from the frame being created. A frame is defined by 2 axes, the third is deduced from the first 2. If the first axis chosen is (topic 1) the orientation will be able to be made either on X or on Z .

  7. Select the reference direction of the second axis or create the direction by clicking on the "+" button.

  8. Validate by clicking .
