Edges from parting surfaces

This command allows you to create the parting edges at intersections between the shape to split and the selected parting surfaces.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the icon from the Parting edges... command and choose the Edges from parting surfaces command.

Select the parting surfaces to consider.
Validate .

This command is particulary useful to create the parting edges after creating Imported parting surfaces.

This command is not an associative one, it is an aid to selection.

Available options:

Edges from parting surfaces :

Parting surfaces: A selection filter allows you to select only parting surfaces in the Split document. The shapes created locally in the document are not selectable.
Hide: This option allows you to hide the selected entities during the command, in order to select more easily other entities, especially those that were behind the first ones.
Imprint: If the edges corresponding to the intersection between the shape to split and the selected parting surfaces do not exist on the part, this option allows you to create them automatically with an imprint operation.

Advanced options:

Detection tolerance : Following the part geometry, it could be useful to modify the detection tolerance, in order to help the software to find the parting edges on the part.

Modifications / Additional information:

The detected edges with this command are automatically added to the selected edges list in the Parting edges command. This is a pre-selection, it still possible to add or remove other edges, selected directly on the shape to split.
