Coating Parameter

This command allows to create a parameter that references a Coating document. This parameter can be useful to create a coating parameter in an assembly and after use it with a coating relay parameter on each in place part. Then you just have to change this parameter in the assembly and this coating will be applied on each in place part.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Select Construction > Parameters > Other Parameters > Coating Parameter... command from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Enter the name of the parameter.

  2. Enter a description if needed.

  3. Select the coating category in the drop-down list.

  4. Select a Coating document from the list of open or referenced Coating documents.

  5. Validate the creation of the parameter with the button.

 

Modifications / Additional information:

 

A coating parameter can then be defined as a driver in a Family document in order to modify the coating of the component when included.

To do this, after creating the coating setting, use the Material and Coating command, uncheck No Coating, select the parameter mode and select the name of the coating parameter from the drop down list.

Then, from the entity tree of the Family document, simply drag the name of the coating parameter from the Generics folder to the Drivers folder.
