Centered Bend Unbending

To define a bending step, it is necessary to define the two configurations of the part in this step: the positioning of the part "after bending" (i.e. after the current bend has been made) and the positioning of the part "before bending" as well as the positioning of the backgauges.

This command allows a bend positioned in the machine to be unbended in order to get the shape before bending the piece.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the  icon or select Bending > Centered Bend Unbending... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Select the band face to unbend.

  2. Adjust the unbending method.

  3. Validate .

The Backgauge Shape Positioning command is chained automatically if the Automatic Next Bending Command mode is activated.

Available options:

  • Bend face: The last bend positioned in the machine is automatically pre-selected. However, it is possible to choose another bend to be unbended by selecting one of its sides.

  • The bend is unbended centered around its mid-plane.

  • By default, the unfolding rules used are those inherited from the unfolding rules defined in the part definition document included in the bending document.

  • See the Unfolding Rulest command for more details.

When no value or rule is specified for the unfolding rules and the unbending methods, the default method is that of neutral fiber positioned at 0.5 (K factor 0.5 without correction).
