Bending operation

To define a bending step, it is necessary to define the two configurations of the part in this step: the positioning of the part "after bending" (i.e. after the current bend has been made) and the positioning of the part "before bending" as well as the positioning of the backgauges.

This command saves the two configurations of the shape to bend, Bending (after bending), and Positioning (before bending).

Creation stages / Use:

Click the  icon or select Bending > Bending operation... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Choose the of the step to be registered, Bending or Positioning.

  2. Check the presets.

  3. Validate .

  • Bending operations are highlighted with background colors to help identify them in the tree and to help distinguish the different bending steps :

    • In blue for bending operations.

    • In green for positioning operations.

  • Depending on the selected type of operation, the Bended Shape Positioning or the Centered Bend Unbending command is chained automatically if the Automatic Next Bending Command mode is activated.

Available options:

  • Type :

  • Bending: The shape to be copied is automatically selected. A label indicates whether the part geometry is valid (type = Solid).
The command creates a "Bending Operation 1 - 1" set in the Bending Operation Set which will contain a copy of the shape to bend after the bending.

  • Positioning: The shape to be copied and the backgauges are automatically selected. A label indicates whether the part geometry is valid (type = Solid).
The command creates a "Bending Operation 1 - 2" set in the Bending Operation Set which will contain a copy of the shape to bend for this step and the positioned backgauges to be used.

  • Name: It is possible to rename the shapes created by the operation.

  • Display edges borders: This option allows you to display the border edges of the shape, in case the shape is flat, and thus easily identify the problem area.
