This command allows you define the transformation corresponding to the length of a profile, projected on a plane. This transformation will the most often used in the Areas separation command, in order to treat the toric bends or bends not actually cylindrical.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the  icon or select Strip > Profile Unfolding Transform... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Select or create the profile to unfold.

  2. Choose to take in account the part thickness or not.

  3. It is possible to add a correction factor to the computed length.

  4. Validate .

The is unfolded, using the Areas separation command, with a Profile Unfolding Transform.

Available options:

Two profile creation modes are available:

  • Profile : This mode allows you to select a profile created before launching the command. The arrow indicates  the fixed side of the transformation.

  • Faces intersection: This mode allows you to create the profile:

    • Intersection edges: It determines the normal plane where the profile will be unfolded.

    • Intersection point: This is the origin point of the created profile.

    • Intersection faces: It allows you to select the faces to consider to create the profile.

  • With thickness: This option allows you to take in account the part thickness, by offsetting the created (or selected) profile:

    • Thickness: You must give the thickness value.

    • Invert: This option allows you to choose the profile side where  the thickness goes.

    • Shifting factor: To take in account the neutral fiber, the created profile will be shifted with the thickness value, corrected with this value.

    • Correction : It is possible to add or subtract a correction length value to the unfolded profile.
