Cutting components

This command allows to include simultaneously standard cutting components: Punch, Guide Bush and Die.

Each of the components is positioned and dimensioned according to the selected cut, thanks to a previously created Standard Profile Frame.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the  icon or select the Progressive die > Cutting components... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Select, or create a Standard Profile frame describing the cut to be made.

  2. Add, or not, a Punch from the standard library, respecting the dimensioning constraints of the cutting profile.

  3. Add, or not, a Guide Bush from the standard library, respecting the dimensioning constraints of the cutting profile.

  4. Add, or not, a Die from the standard library, respecting the dimensioning constraints of the cutting profile.

  5. Validate .

  • Only circular cuts are managed by this command.

Available options:

  • Standard Profile frame: Select, or create on the fly, the frame on the profile defining the cutting on which to include the various desired components.

  • The characteristics of the cut are recalled for information purposes in this section.

  • Manufacturer: It is possible to restrict the choice of punch families to be included by choosing a manufacturer from the list of libraries referenced by the project.

  • Family: This option allows you to choose the family of the punch to include.

  • Use best code: If this option is enabled, the most suitable code will be chosen from the list of codes that meet the dimensioning constraints. Otherwise, it is possible to choose the desired code.

  • Penetration: The included punch will be pushed in from the selected penetration, following Z- from the Standard profile frame..

  • Shape for length: This shape is used to determine the length of the punch.

  • Positioning plan :This plane is used to position the guide bush. Give the plan on the guide side.

  • Manufacturer: It is possible to restrict the choice of guide bush families to be included by choosing a manufacturer from the list of libraries referenced by the project.

  • Family: This option allows you to choose the family of the guide bush to include.

  • Use best code: If this option is enabled, the most suitable code will be chosen from the list of codes that meet the dimensioning constraints. Otherwise, it is possible to choose the desired code.

  • Shape for length: This shape is used to determine the length of the guide bush.

  • Offset: This option allows the guide bush to be pushed into the plate.

  • Manufacturer: It is possible to restrict the choice of die families to be included by choosing a manufacturer from the list of libraries referenced by the project.

  • Family: This option allows you to choose the family of the die to include.

  • Use best code: If this option is enabled, the most suitable code will be chosen from the list of codes that meet the dimensioning constraints. Otherwise, it is possible to choose the desired code.

  • Clearance on radius: This option allows you to set the cutting clearance in the die.

  • Shape for length: This shape is used to determine the length of the die.

  • Offset: This option allows the die to be pushed into the plate.
