Spatial Interface Import Options

This command allows you to modify Spatial interfaces import options. These interfaces are used for Acis, Iges, Step, Unigraphics*, Pro-Engineer*, Catia v4*, Catia v5*, Vda, Inventor*, SolidEdge* and SolidWorks*. imports.

Interfaces listed upper and followed by * need a license.

The window is in several parts.

The upper part recalls the name of the interface and the file. Also provides file information (file version, unit, author, ...) by clicking the Advanced Information button.

The Preview button allows to visualize the file before importing it. If it is an assembly, you can select the part of the assembly to convert, if the assembly is not monolithic. By unrolling in the tree ("+") it is possible to check or uncheck parts. The Convert contextual command allows to change the file to convert. In this case, the converted document will not be the assembly but the checked part.

The preview is not always available in the file or sometime not identical with the converted document (for example due to the SolidWorks configurations).

Some options are available:

  • The material translation is possible during the import of Unigraphics, ProEngineer (higher than Creo 1) and SolidWorks parts.

  • User attributes defined in a part can be imported as User parameters in TopSolid. They can be imported from Unigraphics, Catia v5, ProEngineer (higher than Creo 1) and SolidWorks parts.

  • Some Pro-Engineer assemblies have sub-assemblies substraction operations which are converted in TopSolid.
