Trimming volume

This command allows to use a trimming volume in a view.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the Trimming volume icon or select the View > Trimming volume ... command from the drop-down menu.

The defined trimming volume is linked to the set to project which is used in the selected view.

The trimming will be applied to every views using this set.

Available Options:


Keep what is inside of the volume	Keep what is outside of the volume

The trimming shape can be created in the projected document or if needed from the draft document.

Source document: The shape has been created in the projected document. If the document is a part, a second shape has been added where the trimming is, but this shape has not been moved in representations. If the document is an assembly, you have to create a local shape.
Custom document: A 3D model document is created, where the projected part or assembly is defined as background document. You just have to add a trimming volume and validate the in place edition. The 3D model document is listed. Several documents can be listed. In this case, select the one to use.
- Edit document: When a 3D model document has been created with the Create document button explained below, it can be edited for modifications with this button.
- Create document: By clicking this button, a 3D model document is created where you can create the volume for the trimming..

The 3D model document or the source document may have several shapes for the trimming. In this case, select the shape to use in the drop-down list.

Modifications / Additional information:

To modify the trimming volume of a view, use the Trimming volume contextual command.

Use also the Remove trimming volume contextual command on the view to remove the trimming volume..
