Predefined draft

This contextual command allows to use a predefined draft of a family instance included in an assembly.

Creation stages:

Select the Others > Predefined draft... contextual command from the family instance in the assembly.

The family must have been created. Also a predefined draft has to be created for this family document.

  • The draft references the family instance but not the one into the assembly. So if user edits the inclusion in the assembly to modify the instance, the draft document will not update.

  • By using this command, the draft is directly created with this instance without prompting.

  • The created draft document name is the same than the name of the predefined draft. You have to manually rename it.

  • If the generic document of a family has several predefined drafts, a window allowing to select the draft to use is proposed when starting the command from the assembly.
