Geometric tolerance

 

 

 

 

This command sets the geometric tolerance of a shape.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Click the icon or select Tools > Annotations > Geometric Tolerance... command from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Select the plane on which to "write" the tolerance.

  2. Select the items to be toleranced.

  3. Validate by clicking .

 

Available Options:

 

 

  • Symbol:

Allows to select the symbol to display

 

  • Value:

Allows to define the tolerance value and other requires symbols

 

  • Format:

You can specify the format of the selected tolerance.

 

  • Datum feature system:

Select one or more reference items by clicking directly on their symbol, except for the shape tolerances (cylindricity, circularity, rectitude, planarity) not requiring a reference.

 

 

Select the orientation of the symbol if required. The orientation is the read direction.

 

Additional information:

 

The symbol remains legible during the dynamic rotations of the view.

When creating a geometric tolerance, TopSolid automatically toggles to Annotation Stage.

 

Modifications  :

 

To modify the symbol or a value, double-click in the corresponding check box and enter the new symbol or the new value. With the button Format, it is also possible to change : units, separator, precision, zeros, preview ...

To redefine the orientation of the symbol, if the one proposed during creation is unsuitable, or for any other modification, Edit the symbol with the popup menu in the Tolerances folder of the entities tree or directly on the symbol itself.

The "+" around the symbols enable you to add a check box or a new geometric tolerance.

The "x" enable you to cancel the new tolerance created.
