This command allows to analyze all parts of the assembly and to convert them as sheet metal, tube or profile.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Click the icon or select the Modeling > Sheet Metals Recognition... command from the drop-down menu of an assembly document.

 

 

  1. Select what is to display.

  2. If the maximum allowed thickness option is checked, only parts with a thickness lower than this value will be considered.

  3. If the Only allowed thicknesses option is checked, only candidate parts with a thickness present in the list of allowed thicknesses will be selected.

  4. The Minimum Size Allowed option allows parts that could have been considered sheet metal to be considered non-convertible. For example, a washer has a constant thickness, which can be included in the list of thicknesses to be considered. But if the minimum dimension of its enclosing box is less than the authorized one, it will be excluded from the list of parts to be converted.

  5. Check the Straighten lateral faces if needed option. faces to straighten are automatically selected without any user interaction. A straighten lateral faces operation is created in each part.

  6. Identify tubes and standard profiles : This option allows you to list the parts to be converted into tubes and profiles.
    Only the following types of profiles are recognized:

  7. Validate the conversion of the checked parts in the list by clicking on .

 

 

  • The list of allowed thicknesses is defined in Tools > Options > Sheet Metal.

 

 

Available options:

 

 

 

  • By clicking a line, the preview of the part is displayed.
  • By double clicking on a line, the document is opened.
