Replace |
This command allows you to replace a component with a component of the same functionality. (An Hexagonal head screw can be replaced with a Cylindrical head screw, but not with a washer.)
If you wish to change the code of the component only, you have to use the Code popup command.
Creation stages / Use:
On the component to replace, select the Other/Replace... popup command.
The actual part or assembly and also the actual code are remembered at the beginning of the dialog, but are non-modifiable.
Select if only this component or several components of this family will be replace.
If this component is checked, only this component will be replaced.
If several components of this family is checked:
- all components with the same code will be replaced by checking with code ... (for example if a washer L5 is selected, all washers L5 will be replaced)
- All codes of this family will be replaced ( for example, if the washer L5 is selected, all washers L will be replaced).
By: (Select the replacement component)
Same function: allows to replace a component by another using the same function. For example, all screws use the "screw" function, so you can replace a type of screw by another type of screw. On the other hand, a washer doesn't use the "screw" function, so you cannot replace a screw by a washer.
Open documents: Allows to replace a component by one of the opened documents if it is coherent (a opened draft will not be proposed).
All majors: allows to select another major revision of the component.
Same folder: Allows to select one of the part of the same folder, without opening it.
Regarding your choice (in 3.), a list with the compatible documents is proposed. Select the wanted document and if it is a family, the code to use.
If the part to replace is a components, the drivers of the replacement component are displayed in the Replace dialog box. Drivers are matched either by their name, or through a Family driving document.
Validate the dialog by clicking .
This command is not available with a family instance with drivers. When a document (Part or Assembly) without family is included several times in an assembly, this command doesn't allows you to replace all the occurrences of this document at once. |
