Operator (for creation)

In a 'Processes' document, this command defines the operations to be carried out in the process.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the icon or select the Tools > Operator... command from the drop-down list or the contextual menu on the shape.

  1. Select the part or the shape of the document containing operations. (pockets, drillings, ...)

  2. Check or uncheck in the drop-down list the operations to use or not during the future use of the process.

  3. Validate by clicking .

Only the following operations can be used with a process:

  • the boss

  • the drilling

  • the group of drillings

  • booleans

  • the pocket

  • the slot

  • the tongue

  • the trim by profile

  • the groove (only with Diameter mode)

  • the imprint (only when the faces to consider or ignore options are not used)

Through operations (drilling, pocket, boss and trim) selected as operator will not be used to detect parts to operate.

In this case TopSolid will use the martyr shape to detect parts to operate.

Detection options:

These options are to be defined for each operation of the process.

If the Shape option is checked, shapes must be selected manually. Then, it is possible to define conditions.

- And: both conditions have to be true to be applied.

- Or: at least one condition has to be true to be applied.

When the option is checked, TopSolid also tests the collision between the item of detection of the operation, the part to be operated and the part which has the processes.

  • In most cases, the automatic mode is used.

  • To modify existing operators, use the Operator command.
