This command allows to insert piping components (Flanges, tees, reducers, ...) which will be automatically adapted to the tube diameter. They also can drive tube diameters. A dimension on the nearest element (vertex, edge) is automatically created during the insertion to be able to rapidly constraint it.

Creation stages / Use:

Select the Insert... contextual command from the piping line to modify.

  1. Select the segment or the point where to add the component. If a segment is selected, you also need to select the origin point to position the component.

  2. Select in the drop-down list, the family document to use.

  3. Check Filter codes to have the component with the same diameter than the tube. If it is not checked, select the code in the drop-down list.

  4. Reverse the insert if needed.

  5. Select a reference direction to orient the component, if needed.

  6. Enter the component orientation angle regarding the reference direction if needed.

  7. Validate by clicking .

In case of inserting a reducer, a side of the piping line will be adapt regarding the change of diameter. If another component has been inserted, it will also be changed.

By activating the Automatic dimensions mode, a dimension will be automatically created to help to position the insert. By activating Ask the dimension value, its values will be asked.

Modifications / Additional information:

To modify the component position, use the Edit sketch contextual command on the piping line to modify.
