Manual Nesting

This command allows you to copy or move part in an existing support and/or a support (its initial position is calculated by the automatic nesting).

It also allows you to add an empty support( or to create a new one) to start a manual nesting.

  • To add a new part, just be in the neutral mode (no command is running) and drag the part from the project tree to the parts list table at the bottom of the nesting.

  • It is not possible to move a support.

  • This command is only available in contextual in the documents assembly, machining preparation, machining produced by the Automatic Nesting command.
  • In the machining documents, it is necessary to switch to CAD mode.

Creation stages / Use:

Click the icon or select the Nesting > Manual nesting... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Modify the automatic nesting result as you want.

  2. Validate .

Available options:

Several actions are possible on the parts or on the supports:

  • Parts:

    • Move: Select the part(s) to be moved. The preview of the parts allows you to choose their new position by clicking in the desired support.

    •  Copy: Select the part(s) to be copied and give their new position. If the number of parts is to change, you must Allow the quantity to be exceeded.

    • Delete: Select the part(s) to be deleted. The Automatic validation option allows you to delete the parts automatically each time you make a selection. Otherwise, you must validate the command to apply the deletion.

  • Supports :

    •  Support copy: Select the support(s) to be copied and give their new position. If the number of supports is to change, you must Allow the quantity to be exceeded.

    • Support delete: Select the support(s) to be deleted. The Automatic validation option allows you to delete the supports automatically each time you make a selection. Otherwise, you must validate the command to apply the deletion.

  • The number of parts used is updated according to copies and/or deletions of parts.

  •

    • Dynamic control of the position: If the option is activated, the preview of the part is only visible if it is possible to place it. If not, the preview of the part is always visible at the "end" of the mouse. The verification is only done at the click. In the latter case :

      • If it is possible to position the part, the movement or copy modifications are made.

      • If it is outside the support or if the position is not valid (no space available on the support or too far from a valid position), nothing happens.

      • If it is close to a valid position, the parts are positioned at the closest valid position.

    • Position: This field must be active to be able to click on a position for the part in the support.

With this option it is possible to copy and/or move a set of parts by applying an origin/destination point transformation.

    • Origin point: It is possible to choose an origin point on one of the selected parts, or not. The button allows you to create a point on the fly if needed.

    • Destination point: The button allows you to create a point on the fly if needed.

    • Correction in x: This option adds an offset to the selected destination point according to x absolute.

    • Correction in y: This option adds an offset to the selected destination point according to y absolute.

With this option, you can copy parts with a linear pattern. The number of parts will be updated.

    Choose:

    • The part numbers and their horizontal gap.

    • The part numbers and their vertical gap.

    • The pattern mode determines the original position of the piece.

    • The part rotation is applied to the selected part before the pattern is applied.

    • Flipped: copied or moved parts are flipped. This option is only available if the flip is allowed for this part.

    • Enclosing box: allows the use of the nesting box instead of the nesting part. In this case, any holes cannot be used (Filer parts).

    • Security gap:

      • Common cut: If automatic nesting was created with the common cut option enabled on a part, it can be disabled when manually placing that part.

      • Given value: This option allows you to change the security gap of the parts to be placed manually.

    • Parts for witch we can nest into holes: You can change this option for each part of the nesting when moving or copying one part.

This option allows to rotate the part to be moved / copied.

    • The icons Left Rotation and Right rotation can rotate the part 1 ° in either direction relative to the current angle.

    • Rotation angle: Allows to give the pitch of rotation angle applied when the part is rotated, overloading the angles given in the degrees of freedom. The pitch must be compatible with the angles defined in the degrees of freedom.

    • Press the "+" key on the keyboard for left rotation and the "-" key for right rotation.

    • Disable security area of parts already nested: With this option, only the security gap of the moved or copied part is taken into account. The gaps of the parts already placed and of the support are no longer displayed.

    • Disable collisions:  This option disables collisions with other parts and support security gaps. A part can be moved or copied anywhere on the support. If the option is checked, safety gaps are no longer displayed.

    • It is possible to show the security gaps of each part. They will be displayed in yellow.
