This command allows you to create parting edges paths intuitively. The next edge to be considered is selected graphically by an arrow or keyboard shortcut. The path is built as you go.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Click the icon from the Parting edges... command and choose the Wizard command.

 

  1. Select the starting edge of the path.

  2. Choose the next edge by clicking on one of the arrows or by using keyboard shortcuts. 

 

 

 

  • You can set the keyboard shortcuts to be associated with the arrows used to select edges in the document options .

 

 

Available options:

 

 

  • Start edge: Select the first edge of the path to be built.  

  • Reverse : This option determines the starting direction of the path to be built..

 

  • A set of arrows is used to select the next edge of the path:

 

  • Right   : Selects the edge furthest to the right of the selected edge.

  • Left   : Selects the edge furthest to the left of the selected edge.

  • The white arrows are used to select edges “in the middle” if the intersection offers more than two possible edges.

  • The options Full right   and Full left select all subsequent edges on the left or right.

 

  • Follow tangencies: This option selects continuous edges tangential to the one selected.

  • Angular tolerance: Determines the tolerance used to consider edges as tangentially continuous.
