General: This topic allows you to define the size of icons, and the units used by default by TopSolid'Pdm Explorer.
|
-
Icon Size:
-
This option allows you to change the size of TopSolid'Pdm Explorer system icons. This change requires restarting the application.
-
Units:
-
Metric / Imperial: This options allows you to use metric units (mm, m, g, etc.) or imperial units (in, ft, lb, etc.).
-
Check or uncheck Always display the length unit in input fields as needed.
-
No partial loading of the documents: When this option is unchecked, open documents are only partially opened (only the display is in memory) so the opening is faster, and if a modification is done on the document, it will be completely loaded. It is useful when opening an assembly, parts are not all necessarily modified.
|

|
Colors: this rubric allows to define TopSolid'Pdm Explorer system colors like tabs, workspace background, but also selections, previews and warnings. Be aware of undesirable outcomes (for example, blank preview with blank background).
|
|

|
Display: This feature allows you to set the graphic options. Globally, this default options guarantee an optimal performance level.
Unchecking a checkbox may solve a graphic problem but may somewhat lower performances.
|
-
Dynamic:
-
Mouse:
-
Mouse wheel zoom factor: Modifies the zoom value while using the wheel.
-
Redraw wait after a mouse wheel zooms: Allows you to modify the display duration of edges during dynamic zoom.
-
Detection Time: Allows you to modify the detection time of entities (display of centers, points in the draft).
-
View transition:
-
Dynamic zoom transition: Defines the time that the zoom takes.
-
Dynamic camera transition: Defines the time that the rotation takes.
-
General:
-
Graphics:
-
Multithreaded graphic: Available only with multi-core processors. Allows you to use graphic functions (zoom, rotations, etc.) while calculating operations.
-
Accelerated drawing of fast draft views: Allows you to hide the image of the view and not to recalculate except for zooming. Certain maps do not support this mode, in this case, uncheck the option.
-
Simplify drawing of draft in dynamic mode: During zooms and pans, views are simplified.
-
Draw Edges in Dynamic Mode: Allows you to display the edges of parts when rotating parts. Turning on this option decreases graphic performances.
-
Transparent shapes hide edges: In this case, transparent shape is considered as opaque.
-
Highlight detected faces: Detected faces are framed as during selection, but also colored.
-
Display Scale Bar: Allows you to display the scale bar in the bottom right-hand side of the screen.
-
Material Acceleration: This option allows you to turn on material acceleration for the video card. This option is checked by default on cards that support this option. .
-
Texts:
-
Fast drawing of texts: Certain maps may not display texts. In this case, uncheck the option.
-
Screen-sized objects scale factor: Certain screen-sized objects may appear too big or too small (references, geometric symbols, etc.), thus it is possible to modify the scale. This options applies to all screen-sized objects, without distinction.
-
Screen Font: Allows you to select the font of text displayed on the screen.
-
Antialiasing: Allows to select the antialiasing (stairs effect) on texts.
|

|
Printing: This rubric allows to define multiple printing and printers configurations
|
-
General:
-
Round line caps: By checking this option, line caps will be rounded, in the other case, they will be straight.
-
Printers configuration:
-
This configuration has to be done for each printer.
-
Select a printer.
-
Select margins, line widths and dash definitions.
-
Multiple printing configuration:
-
Activate or not the printer.
-
Select the printer, the source (the printer may have several racks), the used paper, the format in TopSolid, check if it is a landscape mode or not, then enter a comment if needed.
-
Select the printer, the source and the paper use by default for TopSolid formats non-defined above.
-
Check "Force printing on fallback printer" allows to not taken in account formats defined above.
|

|
Rendering: This feature allows you to modify shadows.
|
-
Shadows:
-
Size of Shadow Card: The greater the size, the more the video card will be solicited.
-
Blur Shadow Card: Borders are blurred in order to avoid aliasing on shadow borders of realistic renderings.
-
Shadow Intensity: Allows you to modify the darkness intensity of shadows.
-
The Display Shadows in Dynamic Mode option allows you to display shadows when zooming, translating and rotating.
|

|
PDM: This feature allows you to display warnings and manage the automatic backup of documents.
|
-
Documents checked in:
-
Allows you to define whether or not a warning is required when removing a document from the vault. By opening, for example, a document by double-clicking on the project tree, the message may appear if the document is modified.
This backup only concerns the documents which are not managed by TopSolid (images, videos, reports, ...). It cannot, in any way, replace the daily backup of the database and vault. (see user guide for more information).
This is not an automatic backup.

|
Search: This heading allows you to define the number of queries in the database for the search.
|
-
Search:
-
Enter the desired number. Too small a value causes a "too many results" type error message. Too large a value will cause longer search time.
-
Color. The background color allows you to change the background color of results in text mode (not in thumbnail mode). The alternative background color allows you to define another color on one out of two lines.
