Type for BOM / BOM type |
Type for BOM:
This command allows you to select the level of detail of the assembly for the BOM.
Creation stages / Use:
Edit the Type for BOM... parameter from the System parameters folder of the entities tree..
You can choose between 4 modes:
Absent: The document will not be displayed in the BOM. This mode can be useful to include a document in an assembly without taking it into account in the BOM. For example, if you design a factory layout, you want to include human mannequins but you don't want to get them in the BOM.
Composite: All the items of the assembly can be listed in the BOM. In Multilevel mode, a line will be added for the set.
Simple: The BOM will only display information of the assembly even for a flat BOM. The constituents of this assembly will not be detailed.
Transparent: This mode is the same as the Composite mode. In the case of a multilevel BOM, the line with respect to the set will not be added.
This command is available in an assembly document only. |
BOM type:
This command allows you to type a bill of materials (BOM), offering various actions. By typing a BOM by its usage:
Search: You can search for a BOM document by its type.
Filling BOM table: If a drafting template (for example, for executing a Work) contains several empty BOM tables, TopSolid will know which BOM should be included in which table based on the BOM type (for this, the types must be different to differentiate them).
Definition of BOM Mode and Columns: Messages may appear to the user if the mode (Flat, Multi-levels, etc.) and/or the columns to be used do not match the selected type (see below). These messages will appear in the Bill of Material > Assembly dialog.
Creation stages / Use:
Edit the Bill of Material type parameter from the System Parameters folder in the entities tree of a BOM document.
You have the choice between 6 modes:
