Flexion deformation

This command allows to deform parts or faces by applying a flexion. To illustrate this flexion, we can imagine a part locked on one of its side and then rolled up on a cylinder. This deformation will be listed and usable by the deformation command.

Creation stages / Use:

Click on the icon or choose the command Construction > Deformations > Flexion Deformation... from the drop down menu.

  1. Select the flexion axis.

  2. Select the flexion origin point.

  3. Give the flexion angle.

  4. Validate by clicking .

  • The initial volume of the shape is not preserved after deformation.

  • The flexion axis must be outside of the part.

  • The point is considered on the neutral axis.

TopSolid considers that on side of the element must be fix. So it is necessary to plan a part that will not be deformed.

Initial part. The axis is bellow the part on the middle. The origin point for the flexion is on the middle as well.

Available Options:

This option allows to apply the opposite deformation (equivalent to the use of a negative angle which is not supported by this command).

Modifications / Additional information:

Each modification can be done using the popup menu from the operations tree.

It is possible to replace a deformation by another (for example a flexion by a torsion), by using the Replace contextual command in the operations tree.
