Options: Assembly - Distributions

This section allows to set some default values for the options of the Distribution command in an assembly.

Creation stages / Use:

Select the Tools > Options... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Click [+] in front of the Assembly section in the left column.

  2. Select Distributions.

Available options:

  • Always link the second component positioning with the first one:

By checking this cell, this same option will be checked by default in the dialog of the Distribution command.

This way TopSolid will apply the same settings (orientation, inversion, offset) as those defined in the First component section.

  • Numbering:

Allows to predefine the type of numbering to apply in the Distribution command.

    • Ascending / Descending: the components are ordered one after the other from the starting point (ascending) or from the end (descending) of the path line.

    • Alternate ascending / descending: in these modes the first component is positioned on one extremity and the second one at the other extremity and so on.

    • Ascending with stable extremities: with this mode, item 1 of the first component is placed at the beginning of the line and item 2 at the end of the line (the same applies to the second component if Two components mode is used). Items 3,4,5... are positioned one after the other.

  • Modified component for the remainer:

Allow to predefine the component to modify for the remainer.

If you distribute two components, and the remainder is distributed (Distribute remainder or Distribute one more), you can choose to alter the first component, the second or both.
