Intersection point

This command allows an intersection point to be created between 2 geometries.

Creation Stages / Use:

Click the icon or select the Construction > Points > Intersection point... command from the drop-down menu.

  1. Select the selection mode allows to filter the entities selection.

Automatic

All entities types are selectable ( axes, planes, faces,...).

Axis / Axis

Only axes and edges can be selected.

Axis / Face

Only an axis can be selected for the first geometry, and only a face for the second.

Axis / Plane

Only an axis can be selected for the first geometry, and only a plane for the second.

Profile / Face

Only a profile can be selected for the first geometry, and only a face for the second.

Profile / Plane

Only a profile can be selected for the first geometry, and only a plane for the second.

In all cases, the use of the rotative picking to select an entity is possible.

  1. Select the first geometry. Planes, surfaces, axes, edges, sketches can be selected.

  2. Check or uncheck Extend curve.

  3. Select the second geometry. If a plane or a surface had been selected previously, it will not be possible to select another one (the intersection of 2 planes cannot be a point).

  4. Check or uncheck Extend curve.

Extend curve unchecked.

The point cannot be created.

Extend curve checked.

The point can be created.

  • The Extend Curve option is only useful if a curve is selected.

  • The Extend Curve option allows you to virtually extend the curve to find the intersection point.

Available Options:

  • When the Strict mode is checked (default mode), the intersection point is computed with a tolerance of 10-8m.

  • When the Strict mode is unchecked, the intersection point is computed with the default tolerance (10-5m).
