Backups: Advanced options |
This button is only displayed if Microsoft SQL server and TopSolid'Pdm Server are not installed on the same server (see the installation guide > Server > Microsoft SQL server is on another server than TopSolid'Pdm Server). This option is not available for the Local Pdm server.
Click the Advanced options... button of the backups tool. ((5) on the image of the backups tool online help).
The window indicates the Microsoft SQL server name and the folder name where the backup of the database is done. This folder has to be shared to be able to select it by clicking on ...
Validate.

Microsoft SQL server doesn't allow to backup the database somewhere else than on a local disk. TopSolid has to save it on the SQL server before transfering it on the TopSolid'Pdm server temporary folder. When the database and all files to backup are treated, the final backup file is moved to the location defined with the backups tool. ((3) on the image of the backups tool online help). |

The same folder than the backup folder of Microsoft SQL server must also be existing on the TopSolid'Pdm Server. This folder has to be created manually. By default, it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLTOPSOLID\MSSQL\Backup |
Microsoft SQL server is installed on the server called SQL-Server.
The database is the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.SQLTOPSOLID\MSSQL\DATA folder. This folder has to be shared.
TopSolid'Pdm Server is installed on the server called TopSolid-Server.
In the advanced options of the backup tool, select the \\SQL-Server\data folder.
