This contextual command allows to automatically set part numbers  to several part at once from the bill of material document.

 

To get this command work properly, it is necessary to define Automatic Part Numbering Rules.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Modification of a specific parts selection:

 

  1. Select all the reference cells you want to set or modify by using the automatic part numbering.

  2. Right click on this selection and choose the command "Automatic Part Number".

  3. A dialog box appear with the lit of all elements that will be processed. Check the potential comments.

  4. Validate the box to process the automatic part numbering.

 

Modification of all parts without references:

 

  1. Right click on the title of the references column and choose the command "Automatic Part Number".

  2. A dialog box appear with the lit of all elements that will be processed. Check the potential comments.
  3. Validate the box to process the automatic part numbering.

 

 

 

To select several cells, use the "Ctrl" key while selecting a cell to add it to the active selection.

To select a range of cells, select the first cell then push the "Alt" key and select the last cell of the range.

To change the part number of all documents, you can use the Automatic Part Number contextual command on the title of the Part number column.

 

 

The created references are applied into the properties of each template document.

In this situation, it is not possible to use the "Undo" command. So it is advisable to properly check the dialog box before validating the command.
