This command allows to choose the trimming angle measure method after creating these trimming angles. When trimmed profiles are also rotated around their length axis, the Angles and Orientations mode has to be used. For non symmetric profiles (like a "L"), if angle 1 and angle 2 are different, it must be taken into account to not group the 2 profiles.

Creation stages / Use:

  1. Open the Part document with a mitre, main or planar trim.

  2. Change to the Analyze stage.

  3. Select the Trimming angle measure contextual command from the Trimming angles management folder of the operations tree.

  4. Select the mode in the drop-down list.

  5. Validate.

The orientation allows to distinguish trimmings where the plane has be rotated regarding the Y axis of the profile frame.

It is defined by:

- projecting the normal of the trimming plane in the XY plane of the profile.

- measuring the projected angle with the X axis of the profile. It is this measure which gives the orientation.

  • In the bill of material, the group by angle of the profiles takes into account symmetries and orientations. For example, for a profile like a "U", the symmetry following the XZ plane of the profile is taken into account, when it is the YZ plane for a profile like a "T".

  • The selected mode can defined by default for a new trim by selecting its value in the Tools > Options > Assembly > Trimming angle measure option.

  • When the trimmed profiles are also rotated around their length axis, you have also to add.

  • When performing a complex trimming on an extruded bar (ex. trimming along two planes), a property Complex trimming is automatically added to the trimming angle management operation. This information can be retrieved in a bill of material.
