Mail Server

 

 

 

 

 

This command allows to configure the outgoing mail server SMTP which is used by the workflow and the backup notifications.

Mail templates can be defined.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Select the PDM > Mail Server... command from the TopSolid button.

 

 

Ask your system and network administrator the different settings to fill below.

 

 

  1. Enter a name, for example your company name.This name only allows to distinguish the used mail server when several mail servers are set (for example, the company SMTP server and the company SMTP server accessible from home).

  2. Enter the SMTP server address which is often a SMTP type.domain_name.com.

  3. Enter the port (generally 25).

  4. Activate the SSL encryption if the server needs it.In this case, also enter the id and the password.

  5. Enter a sender email address that will be used for sending the workflow and the backup notifications.

  6. Enter a test mail address and click Send a test message to check settings.

  7. Validate by clicking .

 

 

You must have the administration rights (in the TopSolid securities) to be able to configure the mail server.

  • There is no link between TopSolid and your mail.The e-mail can only be automatically sent by the workflow. It is not saved in TopSolid.

  • It is not possible to receive mails.

  • It is not recommended to configure the SMTP server with your personal mail id and password for confidentiality reasons.

  • Check that given adresses are not blacklisted.

 

 

Available Options:

 

You can configure several outgoing mail servers. The user e-mail address has to be set in the Configure my account command.
