Import TopSolid v6 -Part Document |
Shapes:
The TopSolid v6 shapes are translated with their attributes. A shape can be a solid or a surface. They are basified when importing them in a TopSolid 7 part document. It means that they lost all their modeling history, but all important attributes and properties are translated.
Translated attributes are:
The color
The transparency
The layer
For the material: The TopSolid v6 standard material is linked with the corresponding material of the TopSolid mechanical library.
Translated properties are:
The part number
The description
The author
The creation date
The manufacturer
The "no cut" property is translated as a point unsectionability.
Drillings and threadings
The drillings and threadings information are translated from the TopSolid v6 shapes to the TopSolid 7 faces.
Drilling information:
Drilling type (hole, tapping, counter sinking, spot facing, ...)
Depth type (blind, through, through all)
Diameter value
Bottom type and angle (if blind)
Conicity
Nominal diameter
Pitch (tapping)
Thread start number
Left hand or not
Nominal, minimal and maximal tolerances (clearance hole)
Angle (counter sinking)
Threadings information:
Threading type
Standard value
Diameter
Minimum diameter
Pitch
Thread start number
Left hand or not
Gauge length
Conicity
Sketches:
The TopSolid v6 sketches are translated to TopSolid 7 with certain dimensions and constraints. These dimensions and constraints must be defined into the sketch itself and not according to other external entities of the sketch.(For example, the parallelism constraint between a line of the sketch and an edge of the shape is not translated). All compatible dimensions and constraints are converted with their attributes and position.
Curves:
The curves displayed in the Curves tree of TopSolid v6 are translated as a TopSolid 7 sketch. An analysis is done to check if the curve is planar or spatial. It is converted in the corresponding TopSolid 7 sketch. Each created sketch element is fixed.
