This option allows you to specify the minimum and/or maximum limit of the parameter, and possibly a step and an origin. The following three modes are available:
-
Solve: Automatically changes the value entered or calculated based on defined constraints.
-
Check: Tests whether the value entered or calculated matches the constraints defined. If not, the operation becomes invalid.
-
Check and adjust: Same as for the Check mode plus an adjustment to the closest value in cases where the operation is not invalid.
Let A a parameter with min value of 10mm and max value of 20 mm
-
Step discretization of 4mm without origin (or origin 0mm): authorized values will be 12mm; 16mm and 20mm.
-
Step discretization of 4mm and 10mm as origin: authorized values will be 10mm; 14mm and 18mm.
-
Step discretization of 4mm; 10mm as origin and tolerance of 1mm:
-
Check mode: authorized values will be [9mm to 11mm] ; [13mm to 15mm] and [17mm to 19mm].
-
Check and adjust mode: authorized values [9mm to 11mm] = retained value 10mm ; authorized values [13mm to 15mm] = retained value 14mm; etc.
Tolerance : This command is available for the mode "Check" and for the mode "Check and adjust". It allows to add a tolerance for limits.
Example : We have a parameter A=4,6mm, we add a limit Minimum to 5mm and a limit Maximum to 10mm with a tolerance of 0,5mm. With the mode "Check and Adjust", value change automatically for 5mm.
