Document Preview

This command allows to define the preview of the document from a camera (for the 3d documents) or from an image document (bmp, jpg, png,... file).

When the document is selected in the project tree, this preview will be displayed at the bottom of the tree or in the Welcome page.

Creation Stages / Use:

Select the TopSolid7 button > File > Document Preview... command from the drop-down menu.

Choose the preview type:

Default Preview: the preview is computed wth a given size, from a camera (user or standard camera) and a rendering mode (Shading Render Mode with Edges, Realistic Render Mode, Realistic Render Mode with Edges)
Image From a File: the preview is created from an image available in a folder of the computer or in one of the PDM projects. This mode can be useful for document which have no default preview like BOM documents.

By default, the preview is created with a size of 256 pixel from the elements contained in the detailled representation of the document with the shading render mode with edge and the perspective camera.

Image used with the Image From a File option are not imported in the current project.

When the preview of a 3d document has been defined from an image, if you pick in the preview windows (at the bottom of the project tree, in the Welcome page,...) with the middle button mouse, you'll get the 3d preview.

Additional information:

The document size depends on the preview size (that must be between 256 and 8192).
