This contextual command allows to defined default attributes like the color, the line style, the transparency and the layer. These attributes are directly used by new created entities.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Click the icon on the right of the graphic area. If a color has been selected, this icon is replaced by a square with this color.

 

  1. Select the color for new created entities.

 

 

When a color is modified in an assembly, it overrides the selected part color. For example, if a part is red, and the change of color to yellow is done in the assembly, the part will be yellow in this assembly, but will stay red if opening the part document or if it is in another assembly.

 

 

Available Options:

 

 

 

Allows to define other attributes.

  • Color:

Select the color. By clicking the , button, the color is removed.

Check Random color for shapes option allows to have a different color for each new created shape

Select Random colors if the Random color for shapes option is checked.

  • Line style:

Select a line style (type of line and thickness). By clicking the , button, the line style is removed.

  • Transparency:

Select a transparency by dragging the cursor or by entering a percentage. By clicking the , button, the transparency is removed.

  • Layer:

Select a layer in the drop-down list.

 

 

In order to be able to choose a layer, first this has to have been created with the command Visualization > Layer...

 

 

 

 

To rapidly change the color, use the mouse right button:

  • Whether a right click on a color in the palette, then select entities on which to apply.

  • Whether select entities then with the right button on the color of the palette.
