Catia V5 Import Options |
This option allows you to select the import options of Catia V5 files.
The window is in several parts.
The upper part recalls the name of the interface and the file. Also provides file information (file version, unit, author, ...) by clicking the Advanced Information button.
The second part allows you to select options on the information to retrieve: There are 3 tabs:
General:
Convert Assembly Structure: This option allows you to create an assembly document as well as the parts that make it up.
Make an assembly document for the files which contain multiple bodies: If a part containing several shapes was exported, by checking this option, the result of this import will be an assembly with each shape in a part document.
Convert Attributes: This option allows you to retrieve attributes (colors, transparencies, levels, ...) from different entities.
Simplify and sew:
Simplify Geometry: See the Simplify command for more information.
Sew surfaces: If the result of an import is a batch of surfaces, TopSolid will try to sew them to obtain a volume. See the Sewing command for more information.
Linear Tolerance: If Simplify or Sewing is selected, the linear tolerance may be modified.
Templates: Allows to choose the template document to use for parts and assemblies created during import.
The third part allows you to select the processing options of the imported document:
Convert Free Curves: Check this option to also retrieve wired entities.
Convert free faces: By checking this option, it is possible to import also surface entities.
Convert Hidden Entities: Check this option to also import exported hidden entities.
The Import PMI option only exists for Catia v5, Pro-Engineer and Unigraphics files. It needs an additional license. The PMI (Product Manufacturing information) are informations like notes, surface finishes, geometric tolerances, ....filled in the 3D file. They are imported in TopSolid.
