Parameter from bill of material

This command allows to create a parameter which uses the value of a bill of material cell. For example, if a part is in a draft, and this part is also used in an assembly which has a bill of material document, it is possible to use its index in the draft.

 

Creation stages / Use:

 

Select the Construction > Parameters > Parameter from a bill of material... command from the drop-down menu.

 

  1. Select in the drop-down list, the bill of material to use. (The bill of material document has to be opened).

  2. The bill of material has several properties, select in the drop-down list which property is used for this parameter.

  3. Validate by clicking .

 

 

  • This parameter can only use one of defined properties in the bill of material.
  • When we choose to project only one part of the assembly, we recover the index of this part (under condition to have only one line for this part in the assembly).
  • It is possible to retrieve some parameter from bill of material in several type of documents like unfolding, drafting to configure the name of document for example.

 

 

The part must be only in one line of the BOM to be displayed in a bill of material index. If there is many lines for the same part in the Bill of material, a question mark "?" will be displayed.

 

 

Advanced options:

 

 

 

Several documents may have been projected in this draft document. Select the set (to use its property).For example parts and the assembly may have been projected in this draft document. If you select the assembly, the property will be empty, if you select one part, its property will be used.

 

Modifications / Additional information:

 

If the property isn't retrieved, the parameter will displays "-".
