Revolution symmetry |
This command allows you to indicate that the symmetrical part is equal to itself in relation to its revolution axis when forming symmetry in an assembly. If the symmetrical part is not equal to the original part (left part and right part), use the Mirror Part function. This symmetry is a functional symmetry, which means that the part can only be a revolution part. For example, the axis of a hexagonal screw is a revolution symmetry.
Creation stages / Use:
Click the icon or select the Tools > Symmetries > Revolution symmetry... command from the drop-down menu.
Select the Symmetry Axis or click "+" to create one.
Validate.
In this case, select the symmetry axis. |
Symmetry Result: The symmetrical part is equal to the original part. |
Symmetry Result: The symmetrical part is the symmetry of the original part. You must use the Mirror Part command. |
The position of the symmetry axis is important when forming symmetry. It is recommended to place it in the middle of the part. |
Modifications / Additional information:
The axis of symmetry can be modified or deleted in the popup menu from the Symmetries folder in the entities tree.
