Slave Part (synchronized)

This command allows to "isolate" a synchronized part into a document.

The slave part document created by this way is not linked with the assembly, it allows to open it without opening the whole assembly document.

This way of design can be used when the machining process needs to be optimized, it allows to make the drafting or start the machining of a part even if the designing of the machine or the mold is not finished.

Creation stages / Use:

From the Synchronized folder of the entities tree, choose the Slave Part command from the contextual menu on one (or several) part(s).

This command can be also launched from the Other > Slave Part... contextual command displayed when you make a right click on a part.

  1. Choose the destination folder of the slave part document.

  2. Choose the update mode of the slave part:

  1. Confirm the creation of the slave part with the button.

For each slave part, a corresponding master part is created in the assembly document. In the entities tree of a master part a node named Slave part is displayed.

The Tools > Master Parts... command allows you to display the list of master parts contained in the assembly document.

Modifications are forbidden in the slave part document, if you need to modify the slave part only, you should create a derived part.

A local part can be "isolated" in a slave part, it allows you to manage it in a separate document.

Modifications / Additional information:

When only visual attribute (color and transparency) of the master part is modified, this is not considered as a "true modification". So the slave part will not be automatically updated (in "Automatic" mode) nor any notification will be displayed ( in "Warning" mode). It is necessary to manually update the slave part.

In order to identify a slave part, a boolean parameter named Slave is created in the Parameters > System Parameters folder of the entities tree.

As the slave part document is not linked to the assembly document, if you make a export package of this document, only this document will be exported and the Slave boolean parameter will be automatically removed.
