This command (only available in a function document) allows to modify an independently created Part function document while it should be the derivative of another function (see Derived function). So it is possible to force this existing function document to be the derivative of another function without creating again it from the function document which it must be derived.
Creation stages / Use:
Select the Tools > Derivations > Derive From... command from the drop-down menu.

Select the current function document which it must be derived.

Validate.

TopSolid only proposes the same type of document (a part document can't be derived from an derived Assembly function document).

If the geometry of the function document used to create the derived function changes, the geometry of the derived function changes too.

Adding an operation on the derived function does not effect the original function.

If the derived function must not longer follow the original geometry modifications, use Copy/Paste instead of the derived function.
