Extract machined part stock |
Extract the stock after an operation or the stock part after all the operations to a new part document.
All the modifications done on the stock before the extraction must be echoed on the part contained in the recently created document..
In a Cam document it is now possible to create a part from the resulted stock of a machined part and also the stock after particular operations.
The faceted stock is not supported by this function.
1. Extract machined part stock to a new part document
The extracted stock corresponds to the stock shape after all the operations. If new machining operations are added the modifications will be apply on the extracted stock.

There is two ways to extract the stock from a machined part :
- By a right click on the partNo question will be asked. The stock is directly extract to a new part document.
- By using the icon in the additional menu. A dialog box allows to select the part. Once the part has been selected simply validate and a new part document will be created.

2. Extract operation stock to a new part document
It is possible to extract the stock from an operation. In that case TopSolid extracts the stock just after the selected operation.
Then if we add operations before the selected one, the modifications will be applied on the extracted stock (Nothing will be done if an oepration is added after the selected one).

To be able to do a stock extraction from an operation simply right click on an operation and launch the function :Extract operation stock
In that case no question will be asked and the new part document will be created straight away.
In the extraction process a "Duplication" operation is created and is visible in the operation tree.
It is possible to move the duplication operation to change the moment where the stock has been extract and then change the geometry.
In the following example we realize the extraction of the stock from the side milling operation (OP3).

This function extract machined part stock also allows to easily deal with the assembly context command. The assembly context allows to have access to a part 2 from a part 1 even if those two parts are used in an assembly. For more details about that function, look at the TopSolid'Design Help. |
