Main CN Operation Dialog (Presets) |
To satisfy all types of millings, all operations dialog boxes include several settings.
Also, only changing one setting may take a while because you have to know where the field to modify is in the box, then modify it. The disadvantage of this approach for changing values that are regularly modified is that they are not actually ergonomic.
Labels (in the graphic area) allow you to have shortcuts to certain values (such as pass depths), but you cannot expand them as there is not enough space on the screen.
"Presets" allow you to achieve this result.
The operation will first be performed using the dialog box and then a new Preset can be saved:
By default, all answers are the same as the answers in the operation.
All values to modify using one click will be indicated (without reopening the dialog box)
By calling "Presets", a spreadsheet displays in which you can modify the desired values.

Modifying one of the values (such as the side stock to leave) will update the corresponding fields in the dialog box. If for any reason a value is missing from this table, you can return to the dialog box without losing your changes! (similarly, you can still change any of the values in the dialog box)
The procedure for creating a new Preset is quite simple. Do the following:
Name the Preset in the "Selected Preset" box (Preset1 in our example).
Indicate the values that you would like to quickly modify. To do this, click the icon
The following window appears.
|
The list on the left includes all current operation settings
The list on the right includes all values that must be modified in the future
The right arrow => (in green), allows you to change a setting to your Preset.
The left arrow <= (in red), allows you to delete a setting from the Preset.
All that is remaining is to indicate the settings to place in your Presets.
Validate the creation of a new Preset using the "Save Selected Preset" icon

It is possible to save the tool, the machine and the cutting conditions used during the preset creation.
- When the cutting conditions are saved in the preset they are automatically applied when using the preset.
- When the machine is saved in the preset it will then be possible to use a filter to display only the presets of the current machine or on the contrary all presets without taking into account the current machine . |
Once this Preset is saved, when the same function is called it will be available from the Favorites menu.

For each operation, you can define dedicated presets (ex. an end milling favorite will not be displayed in side milling).
It is possible to use formulas to inform the parameters. In this case it is the formula which is saved and not the result. |
