PPT Type

Simple

In this case, the cutting planes are oriented toward one direction defined in the 'Sweeping Angle' setting. The tool path is obtained by linking the profiles, cutting plane intersections and the surface to mill. The milling is therefore done in the direction defined in the 'Sweeping Angle' setting.

Along longitudinal curves

The operator defines the guide curve(s). These define a configured surface from which TopSolid'Cam generates iso curves, distant from the step over value.ISO curves are then projected onto the finished surface of the part. The tool path is obtained by linking the ISO curves based on the 'Path Type' configuration.

Along transversal curves

The operator defines the guide curves. The longest curve is split based on the requested pitch in order to determine the number of points. This same number of points is reported on the second guide curve. The tool path is obtained by linking points on the same index level on each of the two curves while observing the shape to mill.

Crossed

In this case, two "simple" raster passes are automatically created with directions defined by the parameter "sweeping angle".
