Project geometry

This function allows to realize drillings from profiles or points by projecting them on the part. TopSolid defines so the application point according to a direction.

Those profiles could be points axis or circles.

Drilling from a projected point

The behavior varies slightly according to the working mode : WCS (indexing mode) or continuous (5 axis).

Indexing mode	5 axis continuous mode
The projection is realized following the shortest distance normal to the surface.	The projection is realized following the shortest distance normal to the surface.
The drilling direction is the same than the WCS orientation.	The drilling direction is the same than the projection : Normal to the surface.

Drilling from a projected axis

The machining and the projection are done following the axis orientation.

Drilling from a projected circle

The machining and the projection are done following the circle plane normal.

In WCS mode when doing an axis or circle projection the WCS must have the same orientation than the projection direction. Otherwise, no solution will be found.
