In this case the automatic positioning is made as soon as the tail-stock touch the part. In manual positioning we define the value of this position.
In this case TopSolid make a combination of two parameters. The Z position of the steady and the width of the jaws.With those parameters TopSolid will detect on which diameter it must do the clamping.In manual positioning we must give the diameter and then the clamping will be done on this diameter.
