Location: CN Operation \ Default Operations Settings
TopSolid'Cam provides default values for all operation settings. This feature allows you to customize the default values by saving the milling configurations. The set of settings for customizing milling is called a set.
Creating a default setting set.
You can create several setting sets for each milling.
As such, you can define several sets of settings for end milling, for example, based on the material of the part to mill.

Create a new set of settings
There are two ways to create a set of settings
The fastest way is to complete the mill, customize it, and use it as reference to create a new set.
|
|
The This new set displays as (Active).
|
In the example below, the new set 1 settings must be applied to the current end milling. Contrary to the default set, the bottom stock to leave is equal to 0mm, and the strategy is a sweeping strategy.
The set of modules with their respective millings can be found in the left column named User Settings, and the set of settings that can be modified in the operation can be found in the right column named Selected Set "New Set 1". Settings that have been changed by the operation appear in red.

The other solution consists of creating a new set from an existing set.
Use Function: CN Operation / Default Operations Settings
.
Select the operation to set from the list of modules and click the
button.
|
|
By default, there is always a TopSolid configuration, which cannot be changed. |

Allow to link a machine to a parameters set. When this machine will be used in a CAM document we will by default use the associated set of parameters (HSM parameters for example). |
In the example below, the default end milling must be set with a bottom stock to leave equal to 0mm and a sweeping strategy.
The set of modules with their respective millings can be found in the left column named User Settings, and the set of settings that can be modified in the operation can be found in the right column named Selected Set "New Set 1". Settings that have been changed appear in red. Open the two fields in the list on the right in order to insert new values.
