Scallop Height

The scallop height corresponds to the height of the material left by the tool between two adjacent passes. This value determines the step over and the number of passes to perform to completely mill a surface or part.

The scallop height is calculated with respect to a theoretical slope at 45°.

As a general rule, for each designed milling mode, the operator can specify the height of the scallop or the step over.
